Maryland MACVPR members “landed” on The Hill to help our colleagues from across the nation raise awareness about language included in the Social Security Act that needs changed in order to allow nurse practitioners and physician assistants to supervise cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services. Currently only a physician can be utilized for this purpose. We are not looking to change the role of the physician as the Medical Director, just enable programs to better meet the needs of their patients by allowing CRNP’s and PA’s supervise the daily sessions. This is especially important for rural areas and critical access hospitals due to the limited availability of physicians cz-lekarna.com.
Let’s give Debra Lund a huge “thank you” for continuing to be our mentor and showing us “new dogs” some of her “old tricks” and leading us around The Hill with ease!! The weather was beautiful and allowed the girls to take in the beauty of the cherry blossoms that were in full bloom! Attending DOTH with Debra were: Jessica Meyers; Garrett Regional Medical Center, Sherrie Hill; Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, Debra Lund; University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Hospital Center, and Stacey Blank; Western Maryland Health System. Thanks ladies for taking the time to advocate on behalf of the Maryland chapter!
